Puerto Rico Horror Film Fest 2014

Sangran las Pantallas: Expanding Genre Cinema

The 2014 Puerto Rico Horror Film Fest, celebrating its ninth year, took place from October 23–29 at San Patricio Plaza under the striking theme “Sangran”, emphasizing the intensity and visceral nature of genre cinema. The festival presented a strong lineup of international and Puerto Rican feature films and short films, including premieres and curated blocks spanning horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and dark humor, reinforcing its role as a key platform for global and local storytelling.

Beyond its film program, the 2014 edition highlighted the festival’s multidisciplinary approach with signature events such as Fashionably Spooky and the El Bizarro art exhibition, which continued to integrate visual arts into the festival experience. The program also featured tributes and special screenings, including A Nightmare on Elm Street, alongside a diverse schedule across multiple screens. With its continued growth in programming and audience engagement, PRHFF 2014 solidified its position as a unique cultural space where cinema, art, and genre fandom intersect.
